In early May of 2017 we had made plans to exhibit the MakeXchange DIY Paper Airplane Launcher at the Bay Area Maker Faire. We'd successfully shot a paper plane 100-feet and I was curious how that stood up to the world record. It wasn't long before I came across the stunning video of John Collins and his team's incredible record-breaking distance flight on the internet. (His plane flew 226 feet in case you were curious)

A little more research revealed his amazing book of paper airplanes. Recognizing these books would make a great companion product for our launchers, I emailed Mr. Collins inquiring as to where I might buy his book wholesale.

To make a long story short, not only did he help me get my hands on several copies of his books, but he also informed me he'd be at the Maker Faire too.

As it turned out, his exhibit was just three booths away from mine! He would send kids who'd recently made his championship-design paper plane over to my booth to fire them off in our launcher. I happily returned the favor sending kids interested in testing our product his way to make their own airplane.
